New! Caron One Pound, Caron Simply Soft and Herrschners 2-Ply Afghan palettes - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  The Herrschner's Worsted Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

New!  We've just added the palette for Deborah Norville Everyday Yarn!  If you knit and/or crochet, this is for you.  This is a beautiful yarn with a nice feel to it, a good alternative in worsted weight acrylic!  (Thank you again to BetwixtTheStitch!)

New!  The Red Heart Super Saver Palette - thank you to BetwixtTheStitch!

Welcome to Stitchboard!  Feel free to sit and stay awhile.  Check out our new Premier features.  In addition to the ability to create larger patterns (up to 500 stitches wide), illusion knitting and private labeling (no more worries about editing those pesky and messy PDFs), we've just introduced Filet Crochet, our most popular request!  We have many more features planned, too!  Laughing

I got this book as a birthday present years ago and it is now on a prized shelf in my cross stitch library. I has a lot of floral patterns, borders, samplers, and articles, and the charts are clear and easy to read with symbols and sometimes colors, if needed. A notable section is the one that has a history of antique samplers and how cross stitch started, and they have turned three antique samplers into stitchable patterns. At the end, there are instrutions on stitching, fabric counts, finishing, and material. Most of the patterns use DMC and Anchor floss. This is a good basic book, pretty general in terms of designs, it has mostly traditional ones. But they are very nice. Smiley

Hi.

When you say the black is too dark, are you referring to not being able to see the grid lines on the pattern because it uses black lines?

If it would help, I could add a "Grid Color" option so if you have a lot of dark colors, you could set a light-colored grid line.

If it's that the red and black are hard to tell apart, would turning on symbols help?

Let me know.  We'll see if we can get it working for you.

Terry

Wendy,

Welcome! Smile

While the freePatternWizard doesn't support C2C at the moment, we'll be adding this capability in the future. Smile

I am attempting to contact switchboard with a very important message and it will not go through. What do I do now?

Just made my first crochet portrait graph. I'm very excited to start!! I used the automatic lion brand wool ease colour selection however 3 of the colours are discontinued Sad What should I do? Changing the colours myself isn't an option since I'm awful at it, and I don't have any references to colours presently available. The colours are 620-198, 620-127, and 620-126.
Thanks
Lynn
